We love our volunteers!

Due to COVID-19, we currently have limited volunteers at the shelter.  If you would like to volunteer with us, please email our Volunteer Coordinator for a form at volunteer.hskl@gmail.com

Once the world returns to normal, we will resume our Volunteer Orientations.  Thank you!

When you volunteer with us, you are a member of an extraordinary team of people from all walks of life.  Our volunteers work side-by-side with our trained staff members.

HSKL volunteers help to shape the shelter; they are internal and external volunteers, including Board Members.

All of our volunteers must be registered with us.  Prior to performing any tasks at/on behalf of the shelter, an up-to-date police check (depending on your age) must be completed and you must have attended one of our orientation sessions.

Looking for a high school or college co-op placement?  Speak to your teacher about making HSKL your placement.  We also take on students that are needing to complete their volunteer hours.

Note that if you are under the age of 16, you MUST have a parent/guardian accompany you during your volunteer shifts at all times.

Contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Jenna, volunteer.hskl@gmail.com, or call us at 705-878-4618.
