Executive Director position at HSKL

The Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes seeks to fill the Executive Director (ED) position. This
role reports to the President, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors and oversees all
aspects of the Society's operations. As the most senior staff member, the ED is responsible for
providing leadership, operational planning and programming, personnel management, public
relations and marketing, financial stewardship, and risk management.

The ideal candidate for the ED role will not only have a proven track record in leadership and
management principles, a comprehensive understanding of all applicable legislation, and
experience in the animal welfare industry but also a deep alignment with the Society's
unwavering commitment to animal welfare. Additionally, a commitment to transparency and
accountability, proficiency in Internet and social media, effective response to inquiries and
complaints, strong interpersonal skills, public relations and customer service skills, a team-
oriented disposition, and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

Like all staff members, the ED must not have allergies that limit or affect exposure to animals
and must demonstrate genuine compassion for animals. This permanent full-time position
requires 40 hours per week, primarily on weekdays, and offers a competitive salary of $85,000
to $95,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is based at the
Society's offices in Lindsay, Ontario.

If you are interested in the position, we invite you to apply by emailing a cover letter, resume,
and three references to the Board of Directors of the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes at
hsklboard@gmail.com. Please note that while we appreciate all applications, only candidates
