Second Chance is the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes' thriving thrift store. Every purchase at the store helps support the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes and the animals in our care, giving them the second chance they deserve.
An Exciting New Chapter
After 13 wonderful years, the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes is excited to announce that Second Chance Thrift Store has moved to a larger, more accessible location.
As of this February 2026, you can find us at our new home: 230 Kent Street West, Unit 4, Reeds Plaza, Lindsay.
Our new space offers a larger floor plan, additional parking, and increased visibility within Lindsay’s vibrant downtown shopping district. This move allows Second Chance to grow its impact and continue supporting the animals and programs of the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes.
About Second Chance
Second Chance is 100% volunteer-operated, and proceeds from sales benefit the shelter and the animals in our care. Our unique and ever-changing inventory is made possible by generous donors like you. We accept new, antique, and gently used items, giving them a second life while helping animals in need.
Donations
Donations are gratefully accepted during regular store hours. Please call 705-320-8240 or email secondchance.hskl@gmail.com to arrange a mutually convenient drop-off time.
Please do not leave donations outside when the store is closed.

Our dedicated volunteers regularly refresh the store with new displays and exciting finds. You never know what treasure you'll discover, so be sure to stop by often!
