Do you have a pet adopted from the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes who clearly believes they should be running the town?
The Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes is partnering with the Kawartha Lakes Wellness Warriors to launch the first-ever Pet Mayor of Kawartha Lakes campaign. And yes… your pet could be our next leader.
If your pet was adopted from HSKL, they are officially eligible to run.

Important Dates
• Nominations close: March 27 at 4:30 PM
• Finalists announced and voting opens: April 1
• Voting closes: April 22 at 4:30 PM
• Winner notified: April 23
• Pet Mayor for a Day: April 30 in celebration of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day
Once the finalists are chosen, the community will vote online for the animal they believe should become the Pet Mayor of Kawartha Lakes.
Voting Details
• Voting opens April 1
• $5 per vote
• Vote as many times as you wish
• Every vote helps support the animals in care at the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes
