ADOPTION FEES FOR CATS

Cat – $325.00 
Kitten – $350 (under 1 year old)  
Senior – $250 (8 years +) 

Your Adoption fee includes: 

• Spay or neuter surgery
• Up to date age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies for pets 4 months and older
• Deworming treatment(s)
• Monthly flea and tick prevention while in care
• Microchip implantation with a 24PetWatch ID tag 

Pet Licensing in the City of Kawartha Lakes

All dogs and cats living in the City of Kawartha Lakes must be licensed, as required by Bylaw 2021-072.

2026 Licensing Fees:

Annual Tags (January 1 – December 31):

• Spayed or neutered: $45 (proof of alteration required)
• Unaltered: $50
• Service and Livestock Guardian Dogs: Free (proof required)

Lifetime Tag: $100

• Requires proof of spay/neuter and a microchip

Our meet and greet sessions are available from Tuesday to Sunday, between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Note: We cannot "hold" an animal for a Meet and Greet or future adoption pick up days.  Unfortunately, we have tried this method and too many animals have missed getting into homes because of people not showing up.
